Festival of Lights pageant
A beauty pageant hosted by the Calhoun County Festival of Lights, with various age divisions and a Christmas-themed on-stage question. The event will take place at the Port Lavaca Main Street Theatre, with a $20 entry fee per contestant and optional $5 photogenic contest entry. The crowned Queen will receive a $500 scholarship.

Submit your address to be included in our contest, where entries will be judged in person from December 8 through December 11. Winners will be notified on December 12, and prizes will be awarded at Christmas in the Park on Saturday, December 13!

Nativity Exhibit
FREE Event Showcases 100s of nativities from around the world, made from a vast array of materials-corn husks, cinnamon bark, pasta, pinto beans, recycled bottles, hammered tin, stained glass, lace, yarn, wax and SO much more! Several community members collectors have come together to provide this opportunity.
Event runs from November 29th to December 15th.
Hours Friday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Gingerbread House Contest
Get ready for some sweet holiday fun! We are inviting all kids in Calhoun County to show off their creativity in a festive Gingerbread House Contest. Young bakers and builders can craft houses or gingerbread men from gingerbread, cardboard, foam board, wood, or clay — as long as they’re decorated by the contestant.
Age divisions include Pre-K/Kindergarten, 1st–4th grade, 5th–8th grade, and 9th grade & up, with a special group category for art classes, clubs, and youth organizations.
Entry registration takes place December 4–5 from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at the lighthouse, with judging on December 8. All creations will be displayed inside the lighthouse and can be picked up December 21 or 22 between 5:00–10:00 p.m.
Visitors are also encouraged to stop by the lighthouse December 8–23, Thursday through Sunday, from 5:00–10:00 p.m. to enjoy the magical holiday displays. This is a wonderful chance to celebrate creativity, community, and Christmas cheer!

Nutcracker Market
It's that time of year again... Time for our Annual Nutcracker Market! Saturday, Dec. 6. We will have loads of vendors for all of your Christmas shopping needs! We will also have food and drink vendors to keep you happy while you shop!
We are taking applications for vendors now. Please send your request to Tracey at traelj2013@gmail.com so she can get you the vendor form. It is FREE to sign up in that we are not charging a booth rental fee however you are REQUIRED to donate at least one toy that will go towards our Blue Santa Program.

Port O'Connor Boat Parade
Saturday, Dec. 6
The annual lighted boat parade is a great spectacle that takes place at dusk on the Intracoastal Canal every year!
The parade is scheduled to start at dusk, approximately 6:30 pm in the ICW from Little Jetties and all the way to the end of Little Scurlock Drive and is open to all boats of all sizes that meet the minimum U.S. Coast Guard Safety Requirements. There is no entry fee.
Plaques will be awarded in several categories – Best Overall * Most Spirited * Most Unique * Best Commercial * Best Large Pleasure * Best Medium Pleasure * Best Small Pleasure.

Port O'Connor Tree Lighting
Shorty’s Home Improvement will be continuing the tradition again for POC this year. Let’s all get together and celebrate and share this moment together. If you wanna participate in decorating, we would love it. It will be held at the King Fisher Front Beach on December 7, 2025, 4:00pm-7:00pm. Everyone is welcome. You can bring a handmade ornament or personal ornament. We would like everyone to help in decorating and participate in this event and we want it to get bigger each year. Thank you all and God bless. If you have any questions, feel free to call or message Troy at 413-250-2049. We hope to see everyone there. Hot chocolate and cookies provided.

Stuff the Stocking
🎄✨ Help us spread some holiday magic amongst our young community members! 🎁 This year, we’ll be filling up 250 stockings for the first 250 children at our festive Stocking Decoration Station!
Join us as one of Santa's little elves! Set up your own cheerful table and provide the children with delightful goodies that will fit snugly into their stockings—think cozy mittens, deliciously wrapped snacks, fun toys, and more!
But wait, being an elf isn't just about gifts! You can sprinkle cheer by volunteering at the Stocking Decoration Station, donating supplies for the decorations, setting up a jolly selfie station, or providing other treats.
Let’s create unforgettable memories together and ensure each child feels the warmth and wonder of Christmas! 🎅

Lucy’s Christmas Wish celebration is on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at the Bauer Community Center. Bring the children for an exciting day of games, activities, and a very special appearance from Santa. 🎅
